Lights, Camera, Caerphilly – Take Two

A Cinematic Encore for the next generation of TV & Film!

Following the resounding success of its inaugural project, “Lights, Camera, Caerphilly” is back and bigger than before!

“Lights, Camera, Caerphilly” is a paid live training experience led by Third Time Lucky Productions, in partnership with the Caerphilly Arts Development Team at Caerphilly County Borough Council, and with industry training support from Screen Alliance Wales.

“We are thrilled to bring back Lights, Camera, Caerphilly following the success of the pilot. The programme not only inspires the next generation of screen professionals but contributes to their knowledge and experience of the industry here in Wales, which is vital in supporting the sector as it continues to expand at speed.”

Jordan Forse, Arts Development Officer, He / Him, Caerphilly County Borough Council

The programme, powered by levelling and funding by UK Government SPF Funding,  specifically focuses on giving young actors aged 16-25, hands-on experience of working on a Live Film Set, equipping them with the employability and practical skills for working within the industry, as well as developing practical knowledge to work effectively.

Delivered through masterclasses, workshops and most importantly live filming experiences as the project produces a short film.

In its second year, the scheme is expanding to allow writers who live in or are connected to Caerphilly County the opportunity to pitch their idea for a short film, with one writer then being commissioned to write the script for this year’s production.

Senedd Cymru named the creative industries as one of the best-performing sectors in Wales, with film and TV being a particularly high-growth area. “Lights, Camera, Caerphilly” could be your first step into the industry!

“I am incredibly excited that Lights, Camera, Caerphilly is back after its amazing success last year. In its first year, we provided training and paid work to 8 local actors, as well as providing creative work to a local writer and director of photography. Caerphilly County is full of creatives, being creative to me is part of what it means to be Welsh, so I am proud to help young aspiring actors get their first experience on a short film set, giving them valuable experiences, a portfolio of work, and connections they can use throughout their creative careers.“
